The Rangers’ first foray into their new broadcasting world will take place on March 12 and will be available free on over-the-air TV platforms.
Along with a preliminary regular-season broadcasting schedule, the Rangers announced an eight-game schedule of spring exhibitions on Thursday. Those games will be split equally between over-the-air and the new Rangers Sports Network options. All eight are scheduled to be available on the new streaming platform via Victory+.
The Rangers' March 12 exhibition against Cincinnati will be the over-the-air debut, while an exhibition against Colorado two days later will be the first over RSN. The Rangers will also broadcast exhibitions on March 16 (Chicago White Sox), March 22 (Kansas City) and March 25 (Kansas City at Globe Life Field) on the over-the-air network. Games on March 18 (Cleveland), March 20 (Colorado) and March 24 (Kansas City at Globe Life Field) on RSN.
The Rangers' season opener on March 27 against Boston will air on RSN, while the March 28 game, also against Boston, will be on the over-the-air network. The Rangers will broadcast 15 regular-season games, most of them Friday night home games, on the over-the-air network, which includes 26 stations covering most of the team’s five-state broadcast territory.
While national schedules have not yet been finalized, the Rangers' July 6 game at San Diego is already on the ESPN Sunday Night Baseball schedule.
There have been no major changes to the radio schedule. The club announced 30 of 33 spring training games will be broadcast either on its flagship station 105.3-KRLD FM or via webcast at Rangers.com.
