Micah Parsons reveals mandatory minicamp plan, says new deal is ‘in the owner’s hands’

The Cowboys pass rusher notably missed Tuesday’s offseason workouts, arriving at The Star in Frisco a few minutes after the day’s practice concluded.

Micah Parsons isn’t planning on missing the Dallas Cowboys’ mandatory minicamp next week.

The Cowboys pass rusher took to social media Tuesday night to reveal his plan as the team’s OTAs wind down. Parsons is still seeking a new contract from the Cowboys ahead of the 2025 season.

“I will be there! I haven’t missed a mini camp in 4 years!” Parsons wrote on X/Twitter. “Even though the contract is not done, I have teammates and a playbook !”

Parsons also briefly addressed his contract situation in the same social media post, where he reiterated his desire to win a championship.

Parsons was notably absent from Tuesday’s offseason workouts, arriving at The Star in Frisco a few minutes after the day’s practice concluded. Cowboys co-owner Stephen Jones didn’t offer much detail when asked if contract talks with Parsons have progressed.

While Cowboys coach Brian Schottenheimer said he expected Parsons at next week’s minicamp, Jones had a different response.

“You have to ask Micah,” Jones said.

This offseason, Parsons talked to team owner and general manager Jerry Jones about his contract but nothing of substance has occurred with agent David Mulugheta.

The Dallas Morning News’ Calvin Watkins wrote earlier on Tuesday that Parsons is expected to arrive for the mandatory minicamp to avoid getting fined.
