Galleria Dallas may be getting a lot of attention for the planned Netflix attraction, but it’s ramping up with other improvements, and that includes new stores.
The North Texas shopping hub is set to add Alo, a yoga apparel retailer , in the late fall, according to a statement from Galleria Dallas. The shop will buttress a limited local presence two sites at NorthPark Center in Dallas and The Shops at Clearfork in Fort Worth.
While attracting attention from celebrities such as Jennifer Lopez and Katie Holmes, Alo is adding stores around the country and the world, including London and plans for Seoul. The retailer offers a lineup that includes skirts, jackets, men’s clothing and shoes.
Galleria Dallas is seeing growth with more traditional storefronts even as it ramps up more experiential attractions. Netflix House Dallas, which will include “Squid Game: Survive the Trials” and “Stranger Things: Escape the Dark,” is slated to open in late 2025. The shopping center, recently named No. 3 in the U.S., will be one of just two locations nationally scheduled to get the new concept initially.
“There’s so much change going on this year in the shopping center, and we believe it will have an incredible, positive impact on our regular visitors and new shoppers alike,” said Angie Freed, Galleria Dallas general manager.
Portland Leather Goods, a retailer that sells handbags and backpacks, is set to open at Galleria Dallas later this summer.
It’s a first for the region, according to its website, with just a handful of shops nationally. Still, there are two are already in Texas, including the Austin and Houston areas. Seattle, Chicago and Denver are among some of the other cities slated to get the store, according to its website.
The company offers a variety of leather goods that include some colorful options. That covers sunglasses cases, passport holders, makeup bags and many other items.
Another store, Holiday Decor Boutique, which focuses on Christmas items, is slated to open at the mall in late summer. It also offers items for all seasons, including gifts and other offerings.
In the spring, Pop Mart, the global company offering character-driven toy-related items, opened in Galleria Dallas. The shop also has a locale in Frisco at Stonebriar Centre.
Other stores are renovating their sites at the mall while there have been updates to the restaurant scene as well.
And there are improvements beyond that. The skating rink is getting upgrades, and a corridor near The Westin is seeing updates as well.
